 Pat Griggs

04/29/1940--02/04/2018

Honorary member of the San Antonio Chapter of the Ladies on Wheels Motorcycle Club will be remembered for her quick wit, kindness, beautiful smile, and her generosity.

Madame Iva was always proud to let her family, friends, and neighbors know that annually she had a group of women motorcycle riders come up to her hill country property for their Annual Lady Godiva Ride, where all members that attended would ride their motorcycle naked, wearing nothing but their boots and a smile on their faces!  The day would always be full of laughs, camaraderie, hot tub, good food and lots of fun.  Thank you for the memories!

Pat was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all.  Pat was a career educator and counselor.  Pat was constantly on the go, making the most of every single day, never backing down from a challenge, always stretching her limits.  Pat was very creative and always was doing something new.  She was a very special woman and friend.

Madame Iva we miss you and we love you.  Happy trails!

Thanks for the memories, Sister!

Diana Day

03/07/1953-08/23/2020

            What An Amazing Woman!!!

Diana was born at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois; but she got to Texas as soon as she could!  Diana’s father was in the Air Force, which took them around the world.

Diana graduated from high school in San Antonio, TX, and from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, TX, majoring in Psychology. After college, Diana joined the United States Marine Corps.  Diana was fiercely devoted to the Marine Corps.

After her military service, Diana found much joy and rewarding fulfillment in being a teacher.  Diana taught students with learning disabilities, special needs, dyslexia, and those on the autism spectrum.  She dedicated her time and energy to her students; and mentored many assistants in that field. Diana retired in 2011.

Hawkeye learned to ride a motorcycle at the age of 14.  She learned to ride on a Norton 650 Commando.  During her lifetime she owned many motorcycles: Honda 90, Honda 125, Honda 450 (which she trailered cross country while in the Marine Corps), Yamaha Virago 750, Yamaha Virago 1100, Kawasaki Drifter1500, Yamaha Stratoliner Midnight 1900 (Her Absolute Favorite!), and a Honda Goldwing Trike GL1800.

Riding motorcycles was always a joy for Hawkeye.  The desire to ride was in her veins, so the trike was next in line.  Reluctantly she had to hang up the trike keys; as her health was requiring more and it was becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy the ride.  She always said “it’s all about the ride, enjoying yourself, and feeling free on the road, and when it is no longer a joy, but a strenuous struggle it is time to re-direct & re-set the sails for a safer and more enjoyable journey.”

Hawkeye joined U-Haul as navigator in the truck on the short and long hauls, and she enjoyed it very much.  Good times in the truck for sure!

Good times were also had as the San Antonio Chapter’s Godiva Ride at Madam Iva’s was always fun.  Hawkeye was an original chocolate!  Hawkeye loved her chocolates!!

Diana was a True Warrior

    Georgia Morgan Wedin

    June 12,1939-December 31, 2023

Our sister “Scout” June 12,1939 Georgia Morgan Wedin was born, raised, and graduated high School and went on to graduate from Sul Rose University with a master's in education in Alpine Texas. She was a daughter to the late Roscoe George Morgan and Elizabeth Ellen Spence Morgan, younger sister Dorothy and brother James “Bud.” Surviving Spouse Darlene Beeson, sister Marilyn Burdwell and spouse Pat Neppl and five grown children, eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter, one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Our sister Scout loved being outdoors building forts, playing jacks, marbles, jumping rope,  playing all kinds of sports and running the neighborhood with the local kids on her blue bicycle  and skating on her skates around town in Alpine Texas as a child growing up. She was a life  time Girl Scout from 1946-2023. One of SCOUT’S sayings “the only way you could leave  Alpine was by buzzard”.  After she retired from teaching earth science, from Northside ISD. Georgia began taking art  classes and became a talented watercolor artist like her mother and was always eager to share  her watercolor paintings with friends and family over the years.  Georgia loved telling stories of growing up. Later in her life after retirement Georgia published  her life story for her grandchildren titled “NANNIE’S LIFE”. She lived a big life traveling the  world and was so humble.

Georgia known as “SCOUT” to the LADIES ON WHEELS, L.O.W. RIDERS San Antonio  Chapter. She was very proud, encouraged and supportive of her spouse Darlene, “Da’Bee”  who loves and enjoys riding motorcycles very young. “SCOUT” was patched in March 5, 2016  with her spouse Da’Bee. I would describe “SCOUT” as Purple: a teacher of great wisdom, spiritual with an imagination  out of this world. She had a love for the universe and became a world traveler of many places, she loved to explore and she collected all kinds of rocks, and fossils. “SCOUT” was a very creative and talented artist, kind, loyal, honest, independent and loving spouse. She is greatly missed but her heavenly life will continue on. “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a Butterfly” When Scout made friends she made them for life.

“LFFL” She is FOREVER LOVED “SCOUT”
